One Day Group Opportunities
Work Group Volunteer Opportunities:
Please note that work groups are hosted during the week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays during the summer months and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from September to May. Groups are invited to work during the morning session from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm and a few afternoon sessions from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Please contact the volunteer coordinator to confirm available calendar dates.
Lydia’s House depends on the donations of volunteers to run our program. Please consider bringing cleaning supplies and/or any items that are listed on our needed items list.
Group tasks include, but are not limited to: cleaning, painting, organizing and sorting donations, garden maintenance etc.
Check-list:
- Confidential directions: * We have two locations, thus it is important that you confirm the directions for the correct location with the volunteer coordinator.
- Confidentiality agreements are required from every person that enters our facility (even your drivers). When you disseminate the agreements, please take the time to emphasize to your group members the importance of keeping Lydia’s House confidential. We are the only 2-year transitioning home program in the St. Louis City area, thus it is imperative that we protect the identity of our families and our facilities.

- Lunch and bottled water
- Please take note that pictures are allowed, but it is important that our buildings and streets surrounding our facilities are not allowed to be shared with the greater public.
