Direct Service Opportunities

 

Direct Service Opportunities: Children’s Program (volunteers must be at least 16)

  • Childcare (Monday and Wednesday evenings)
  • Children’s after school program and tutoring (Monday through Thursday 4:00 – 6:00pm)
  • Children’s summer program assistance (Tuesday through Friday, daytime hours)

Direct Service Requirements:

If volunteers desire to work with children or women, they must complete Joint Orientation Training, hosted by St. Louis Eliminating Violence Against Women Network (SLEVAWN). Lydia’s House partners with SLEVAWN to host training sessions in January, June and August. Training must be completed before volunteers are allowed to participate in direct- service with our residents. Direct service volunteers must show proof of completion for all three training sessions.  The training is held after business hours at Maryville University.

Upcoming Direct Service Training Details:

Session 1: Saturday, August 20, 2011 from (8:45 AM – 4:30 PM)

Session 2: Wednesday, August 31, 2011 from (5:45 PM – 9:00 PM)

Session 3: Saturday, September 10, 2011 from (8:45 AM – 4:30 PM)
